An Introduction: Hello I’m Victoria Cloete

Hello there welcome to Social Media Blooms, thank you for taking the time to read this post. With the re-brand of my blog I’ve decided to introduce myself to all my new readers and maybe my long-term followers might also learn a new thing or two about me.

I’ve started Social Media Blooms along with my Social Media Management business back in 2013, right after I completed an Internet Marketing course at the University of Cape Town via Getsmarter. I was 28, ready for a career change and new adventures. Let’s see, six years later and I’m still here, still blogging and still curating content for my creative social media clients.

But did you know that modelling was my first love?

I’m 1.78 and have always been really skinny so I couldn’t think of any other career path more suitable than becoming a model at the time. So, straight after school I completed a secretarial computer diploma course and then left for the big city to pursue a modelling career.

I was young, far from home and with not much guidance, but with a lot of dreams in my little adventurous heart. It didn’t worked out as planned but eventually I found a job as a personal assistant for a beautician at a place called Touch of Beauty in Sea Point. Also, I nailed a modelling job at my very first casting with Jo-Ann Strauss in the lead.

A perfect day means.

Spending time with my husband and daughter, watching movies, eating pizza and ice-cream. I would love for my daughter to get a little older so that we can go shopping together. I’m forever thankful that I’m blessed with a little girl, like she’s all I ever wanted!

Career goals I’m chasing.

I would like to collaborate with more beauty, lifestyle and motherhood brands. I always like to remind myself that I’m not just another blogger, I’m actually a qualified digital copywriter and marketer. I’m not here to fool brands and PR agencies, I can actually add real value to campaigns because I’ve invested a lot of time and money in further studies in order to produce high quality content.

I recently finished this Digital Marketing course.
In my handbag.

I love Revlon so I’m always carrying one of their Ultra HD Matte Lipcolours in my handbag. I also love Dr. Pawpaw’s Multi-Purpose Shea Butter Balm and L.A Girl’s Makeup Setting Spray. You’ll also find my purse, pen and a cute little notebook in there. I’m mad about cool notebooks.

Wearing Revlon's Ultra HD Matte Lipcolour in Forever Eternite.

Most loved perfume.

I’ve been using the original EDP Roberto Cavalli for more than 5 years. I normally go for sweet, gourmand scents with a hint of fresh blooms. Think Vanilla, Honey and Chocolate combined with a beautiful bouquet of Cherry Blossoms and a dash of Grapefruit!

My personal style.

Classic with a pop of colour and some fun element.

Life in Namaqualand.

People talk about simple living as a trend these days, while I’ve basically been “simple living” all my life. There’s honestly nothing like the peacefulness of countryside living.
